We know giving up an animal can be really hard for some people and we want to ensure you that your rat is in great hands when you leave them with us!












Meet Hedwig - 3 years

Hedwig came to us after outliving all of her siblings. Her owner couldn't accommodate more rats and wanted her to retire where she could have some friends and plenty of enrichment before she too, says good-bye. Hedwig has been our resident Grandma, teaching our babies how to be nice and storing food for the others, enjoying the lap of luxury on her days off!














Meet Twigg - 2 years

Twigg also outlived his siblings and was left lonely and sad. Twigg met up with two of my friendliest boys where he has enjoyed many cuddles and started eating, foraging and playing again before he enters our big colony of boys!

3. Await confirmation of in-take

We are Launceston Based and happy to work around your schedule.
At this time, we are unable to collect surrenders state wide on request but do day trips and bulk in-take in certain areas.
You are always welcome to have someone else drop off your surrender on your behalf

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
Surrenders are intended to be left with us to adopt out as pets or retire them into our retirement program based on their age and needs.
Little Dreams is NOT a boarding facility.

Once surrendered, your rat/s will not be used in any breeding programs, have access to suitably sized living spaces, enrichment and veterinary care.
We know that this can be really emotional for some and are happy to provide some settling in updates for you at request.

As always, feel free to surrender your rats with any in cage items they have to help them to settle in.

Do not worry, we understand circumstances can change and so just because you surrender to us does not void you from adopting in the future when you are in a better spot!
