By submitting an Adoption form to Little Dreams with the intent to adopt rats from us, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. You will maintain frequent contact with Little Dreams during the adoption process. 

​

Our time is valuable and therefore, we cannot constantly chase people down for responses. After each message sent, you have 24 hours to send some kind of correspondence unless discussed previously. If we struggle to contact you or correspondence is unreasonably slow you will be warned of the adoption being terminated. 2 days after a lack of communication or within consistent struggle, the adoption will be terminated and you will no longer be able to adopt the chosen rats. This does not disqualify you from future adoptions with Little Dreams. You also agree to promptly withdraw your own application at any point should you no longer want to adopt. No reason is required.

​2. You will not breed any rescued rats.

​

Rescued rats are not to be bred under any circumstances. Health Risks, Genetic Deformities and Illness are prevalent in the rat keeping community and are a big reason for needing rescues. If it is found within a reasonable doubt that you have bred our rescue rats, you will be blacklisted from ever adopting again. Breeding rescues contributes to back yard breeding and rodent mills. Our rats deserve better!

3. You must provide proof of vet care.

​

If you choose to adopt rats with known issues that need fast treatment (such as surgery, medications etc.), you must provide proof of adequate care within 7 days. A failure to do so will result in an attempts to recover the rats from you with a refund or in the event that the rats can not be recovered, you will be blacklisted due to a breach of contract and reported to the relevant authorities due to negligence.

If you are wanting our rescues to live with the opposite sexes, you must provide a vets note/medical records to prove your rats have been spayed/neutered.

4. You must do your best to comply with our standards of care and provide photos.

​

To ensure safe, enriching living conditions, we need to see as much of that as possible. Should we make reasonable suggestions to improve living conditions, we ask you to do your best to comply. Reluctance to do so may result in the voiding of your adoption application. If you outright refuse and the conditions don't meet our standards, the adoption will be terminated until better living conditions can be provided.

5. You agree to return your adopted rats to Little Dreams in the event of being unable to care for them/unexpected pregnancies.

​

Even when we are at capacity, our adopted out rescues can still be surrendered back and we encourage this as we hold their records and can find them adequate homes again/retire them. Surrendering them or rehoming them yourself can spread them into undesirable situations. They will always be welcome here.

6. You agree to provide only truthful information in order to complete the adoption.

​

If in the circumstance we find that the information you have provided in order to adopt our rats is false, we will ban you from adoption and share information about the falsification to other local breeders (including your name) and in extreme circumstances take legal action against all offending parties.
