Donate to keeping ethical breeding in Tasmania

We fund our passion here on our own as it is realistically a hobby, however it is a hobby with a goal of eradicating irresponsible and unethical keeping and breeding of our furry friends.

For around 2 years, I rescued rats and homed them back to the public and in that time some of the biggest reasons for surrender was a lack of education and poor quality animals, from sick and suffering to aggressive animals.

We discovered that these rats not only all seemed identical but also came from a "breeder" who quickly matched up to all of the traits of a rodent mill. Even I had fallen victim to this person.

This mill not only put out poor quality animals but didn't educate new owners and also at times encouraged the public to breed, again without knowledge.

Due to our efforts to educate the public on husbandry and putting out the best quality pets we can, we have seen a decline in backyard breeding, the complete disappearance of the rodent mill.

We have also seen an incline in people choosing to seek ethically bred animals instead of impulse buying which is fantastic.

We want to continue our work and keep smashing our goals and keep our breeding clean, healthy and introduce exciting new varieties.

We do not make any real profit here as we do not breed excessively and are moving more towards an active waitlist of demand to ensure we have no one left needing homes.

Still on occasion we accept rescue cases as well!

We will continue to fund ourselves and have 0 expectations of the public to assist us here, however, we thought that the option to do so might help us get to these goals quicker!
